Christopher Dane
Christopher graduated as an actor from LIPA in 2002 and headed to London with a BA Honours First and the Paul McCartney Award in his pocket.
He honed his skills in Fringe Theatre and landed his first professional theatre job in Phyllida Lloyd’s 2006 award winning Donmar Warehouse production of MARY STUART. His love for the screen, however, has since then taken his career, both as an actor and as a produced writer, into the British Film Industry and his CV now includes scores of features and countless short films.
In 2009 his Scandinavian roots added to the impact of his lead role as Aragorn’s father Arathorn in BORN OF HOPE, the independent Lord of the Rings prequel, that has now amassed more than 55 million online views and a four star review by Wendy Ide in The Guardian.He won the Best Actor Award at the London Independent Film Festival for his acclaimed portrayal of John Foster in the British comedy drama BEING SOLD directed by award winning director Phil Hawkins. He has also won multiple awards for the online series Ren – The Girl With the Mark that he co-created with director Kate Madison.
Christopher made his Television debut in 2013 in the hit BBC drama series CALL THE MIDWIFE, which drew in over 10 million viewers, followed by appearances in DR WHO, THE BRIDGE, EASTENDERS, DOCTORS, THE HALCYON and most recently the 2019 Channel 4 comedy series HOME. 2020 saw the release of the award winning suspense horror feature THE UNFAMILIAR, and in 2021 he is looking forward to the release of the Belgian drama SAVING SANDRA as well as the exciting new Scottish based crime drama ANNIKA on UKTV.
