Dean Semler was born in 1943 in Renmark, South Australia, Australia. He is known for Apocalypto (2006), Dances with Wolves (1990) and The Road Warrior (1981). (Member of the Order of Australia) in the 2002 Queen's New Years Honours List for his services to the arts as an Australian and internationally acclaimed cinematographer. Member of the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) since 1975, and the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) since 1998.
