John Cacavas

Composer, songwriter ("Autumn Once Again"), conductor and arranger, educated at Northwestern University (Bachelor of Music degree) and through music studies with Robert Delaney. He served in the U.S. Army and while there, arranged for the Army Band in Washington, DC. He served as an assistant to Morton Gould, and he was awarded the Four Freedoms Foundation George Washington Honor award. He was director of publications for the Chappell Music Company. He composed, arranged, and conducted the OEO radio series "Voices of Vista". Joining ASCAP in 1954, his song and instrumental compositions also include "Danse Montmartre", "Moonstruck", "Other Side of the Moon", "Tall in the Saddle", "City Children", "Touch o' the Moon", "The Sentry Boy", and "Lead Us, O Lord".
