Andreas Schmidt

Andreas Schmidt was born on November 23, 1963 in Heggen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. He was an actor and writer, known for Pigs Will Fly (2002), Plus-minus null (1998) and Fleisch ist mein Gemüse (2008). He was married to Jennifer. He died on September 28, 2017 in Berlin, Germany.Being also a trained opera singer, he was vocalist of the rock band "Lillies große Liebe" (lit. for Lillie's big love). Lives in the Kreuzberg district in Berlin. After studying philosophy and German studies, he attended acting and directing courses. Appearing in three movies of Eoin Moore, his character's name was changed from "Alex" in Plus-minus null (1998) into "Axel" in Conamara (2000) and finally "Laxe" in Pigs Will Fly (2002). He also played in the tv series Tatort and Polizeiruf 110 and became a director of theatre. Schmidt was married to an American woman, Jennifer Schmidt. Their son was born in 2008. Schmidt was twice nominated for the Best Actor award at the Deutscher Filmpreis in 2003 and 2006. He was a singer and guitarist in the rock band Lillies große Liebe in the 1980s.
