Cherie Lunghi

Cherie Lunghi was born on April 4, 1952 in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England. She is an actress, known for Excalibur (1981), Frankenstein (1994) and The Mission (1986). She was previously married to Ralph Lawson.Has one daughter with film director Roland Joffé, Nathalie Lunghi (full name Nathalie Kathleen Lunghi-Joffé), born 26 August 1986. Brought up by her English mother, and aunts, in west London, after her Italian father abandoned the family. Cherie played Hedvig in The Wild Duck and Alice in Alice in Wonderland on BBC radio while still a pupil at the Arts Educational School in Hyde Park. Leading ingénue at the Royal Shakespeare Company in the late 70s (Perdita, Cordelia, Viola), then left to portray Guinevere in Excalibur (1981) and pursue a film career. Although she played Kenneth Branagh's mother in Frankenstein (1994), she is only eight years his senior in real life.
