Chuck Russell is an American film director who is known for directing horror films such as A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, Bless the Child and The Blob as well as the action films I Am Wrath and Eraser. He also directed two films that launched the film acting careers of Jim Carrey and Dwayne Johnson respectively: The Mask and The Scorpion King.nnounced in August 2002 that his next project will be a film adaptation of the popular comic book "Way of the Rat." The kung fu/fantasy published by CrossGen Comics centers around a thief named Boon Sai Hong who steals the mystical Ring of Staffs (which gives him mastery of every staff weapon) and a mysterious scroll known as The Hell of the Hungry Dragons (which possesses unknown evil powers). Accompanied by his sensei, a talking monkey named Po Po, Boon must retrieve a sacred object known as The Phoenix Heart. Charles Russell intends to write and direct the film. Is co-creator of Darabont/Fried/Russell Productions. Hasn't directed a movie since 2003. Has only directed one comedy film(The Mask).
