Joseph Kessel was born on January 31, 1898 in Villa Clara, Entre Ríos, Argentina. He was a writer, known for Belle de Jour (1967), The Horsemen (1971) and The Night of the Generals (1967). He was married to Michèle O'Brien, Catherine Gangardt and Nadia-Alexandra Polizu-Michsunesti. He died on July 23, 1979 in Avernes, Val d'Oise, France.
