I've been writing for the three decades now, mainly screenplays, but also short stories, theatre works, and poetry. My life tends to revolve around these tasks. Not that I don't do anything else, or have other interests, just that when any particular form of writing has taken precedence, it dovetails in with what else is going on. So, screenplays tend to be about working with other audio-visual collaborators to bring our work to the screen(s). Theatre pieces come along when I'm working with actors and directors to shape material that each of us can bring our talents to for presentation before a live audience. And poetry, that might see me standing up before an open microphone, or placing material on Twitter or Instagram. I can hear Australian birds singing and 'shouting' messages to each other outside my window right now. They might have more to say than me at any given moment.
