Sidney Berger

Sidney Berger was born on July 25, 1935 in New York City, New York, USA. He was an actor, known for Carnival of Souls (1962) and Carnival of Souls (1998). He was married to Sandra. He died on February 15, 2013 in Houston, Texas, USA.At various festivals and appearances he can often be heard quoting critic Roger Ebert's comment on his character in Carnival of Souls. Ebert called Berger's character the "definitive study of a nerd in lust", a feat Berger often boasts about humorously. His students included Randy Quaid, Dennis Quaid, Brent Spiner and Brett Cullen. Chairperson of the acting/drama department at University of Houston. Director of the Houston Shakespeare Festival. [2002] Stepped down as chairperson of the University of Houston School of Theatre and Dance in July 2007. He announced that he will remain to teach acting and will continue to direct the two festivals he founded during the 1970's, the Houston Shakespeare Festival and Children's Theatre Festival.
