He is a writer and director, known for 99-1 (1994), Not Only But Always (2004) and Ghosts (1995).He was awarded the Laurence Olivier Theatre Award in 1994 (1993 season) for Best Comedy for his play, "Hysteria". His comedy, "Cleo, Camping, Emmanuelle and Dick", was awarded the 1999 Laurence Olivier Theatre Award for Best Comedy of the 1998 season. His play, "Hitchcock Blonde", performed at the Jerwood Theatre Downstairs at the Royal Court, was nominated for a 2004 Laurence Olivier Theatre Award for Best New Play of 2003. He was awarded the 1982 London Evening Standard Theatre Award for Most Promising Playwright for "Insignificance".
